With every forecast promising 15 mph by 4 in the afternoon !!! and and a glorious sunny day - September has been a top month so far apart from a wind storage :( we were in no hurry to go to the beach. So Mag and I packed our breakfast and headed to Martlesham to watch the first stage of the Tour of Britain bike race :) We got a good spot on the corner by the Red Lion pub and enjoyed the cyclists whizz past - I didn't see much as I was talking pictures, it was not until I got home and had shots of both Bradley Wiggen and Mark Cavandish :) we really enjoyed that..Thyen home for luch and checked all my weather sites willing the wind to blow as we are off to France tomorrow for 6 weeks and I wont get the chance to sail again until the end of the month and there is loads of wind forecast this week too !!! With only a force 2/3 showing I headed to The Dip and one by one several of my mates turned up hoping for a miracle - sadly the wind never really made it but the weather was fantastic so in the end rigged big and took the longboard out.. I beat to the River Orwell at Landguard and nearly got going on the way back, I then sailed with my mate Mark Smalling out on his high volume Starboard Phantom and I can't get near these in lighter airs :( The wind threatened to fill in on another trip to the pier but dropped away :( Still a top day in the Suffolk sunshine and we still haven't packed for our trip - tomorrow could be busy !!!
